Marvel's Black Widow released on Disney+ July 9th but, being somewhat of a cinematic purist, I chose to see BW at my local theatre instead. Copyright laws are intended to protect the rights of artists and ensure the exclusivity of intellectual property. They made sense at the time they were created but, in 2021, international corporations have bought up almost all valuable copyrights and limited the creative voices which can use them.
