*Unintelligable nerd noises* Hello Interwebs! If you've spent any time on the internet in the last 3 years, you've probably heard some mention of the fabled “Snyder Cut” of DC's Justice League film. Many called it a hoax, but it's actually set to come out 3 weeks from now (March 18th) on HBO Max! Whether you're a fan of superheroes, DC, Zack Snyder or not, this release is a precedent-setting milestone of the film industry. I genuinely think it deserves the attention. So this week I explain why the “ReleasetheSnyderCut” movement started and what it means for the film industry as a whole. It's a bigger deal than you might think.
Most of the best romance tropes here: forbidden love, period piece, impending tragedy, etc Hello Interwebs! It's Valentine's Day. You know what that means: romance movie night! And that's about the place many men disconnect emotionally from the conversation... But why? What's so wrong with romance movies? Truth is: there's a stigma against men enjoying certain forms of entertainment (emotionally heavy stuff in particular), and I'm sick of it. Today I want to talk about my experiences with this stigma, why I think it started, and what can be done to combat it.
How most people imagine actors Hello interwebs! I'm known by most of my friends and family as a somewhat dramatic personality (to understate things). Maybe because of –or in spite of-- this, I've enjoyed performing since childhood. That's part of the reason I started making films: so I had an excuse to act for fun. I'm not a professional, but I'm also no beginner. Besides my film and stage experience, I've taken acting classes at both the high school and university level (for what that's worth to you). This week I wanted to share tips from my acting process, cultivated over the last ten years. Hopefully this guide will help any aspiring performers out there, whether you aim to act professionally or as hobby, like I do.
